Not long ago, BillionMail released version 4.3 with major improvements such as Spintax support for dynamic content, core log management optimizations, and fixes for stalled campaign.

That release focused on making email campaigns more flexible and efficient.

Now, BillionMail continues its development journey with version 4.4, bringing updates that focus on system stability, stronger security, and more granular domain-level control.

What’s New in BillionMail v4.4

Outbound IP Binding

The highlight of this release is Outbound IP Binding.

This feature allows dedicated outbound IP allocation for each domain when the server has multiple IP addresses. It helps each domain maintain its own IP reputation, which is crucial for improving email deliverability.

Core Optimizations

  • Postfix configuration enhancement
Optimized relay-related settings in the main.cf configuration file and ensured proper SMTP hash file availability, significantly improving email delivery stability.
  • Security reinforcement
Removed arbitrary file read/download functions from the interface, reinforcing system-level security.

Bug Fixes

  • Database constraint resolution
Fixed foreign key constraint issues in the email_tasks table that previously caused database operation errors.
  • Reverse proxy compatibility
Corrected reverse proxy configuration to ensure proper behavior when bypassing language detection and accessing test APIs, with better handling of reverse proxy anomalies.
  • SSL certificate maintenance
Fixed issues with Let’s Encrypt certificate automatic renewal failures.

Conclusion

The BillionMail v4.4 release demonstrates the project’s consistency in development: from v4.3’s focus on campaign flexibility and log optimizations, to v4.4’s introduction of domain-specific outbound IPs, stronger security measures, and crucial bug fixes in the database and SSL modules.

For users running self-hosted email servers, this combination of updates is critical to ensure long-term stability, improved security, and optimal email deliverability.
